Marni Kass
I have recently been diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor. Have been in and out of the hospital for surgery and has begun undergoing treatment for my condition. More than 190,600 brain tumors are expected to be diagnosed in the United States alone during 2009. This is my story.

Comfortable with an occasional middle finger!
Marni is comfortable and she is sleeping and resting a ton. She can still give me the middle finger too (pretty a normal day for her...)
Thank you of all wonderful words of inspiration, prayers and love...Our family appreciates each all your kindness and love!

Forever beautiful in stature and presence, Marni Kass has touched all of our lives.
Forever beautiful
in stature and presence, Marni Kass has touched all of our lives.
Just over six years
ago the bizarre term(s) Astrocytoma /Glioblastoma
changed the way the Lopez-Kass Family thought about the future.
Marni’s strong will
and determination to beat this things ass has been beyond inspiring. 4 weeks
ago a scan changed things again. The tumor has and continues to grow rapidly
and the options are more clinical trials, steroids, chemo, radiation, surgeries
or spending quality time with family and friends.
Marni has chosen
the latter.
Marni has had the
opportunity to enjoy life to the fullest with her and her husband, two
beautiful children, her family and her friends.
She is looking
forward spending time with her family and hope that you cherish the memories of Marni’s
courage, love, and strength she has shown us throughout her life and especially
during this difficult final chapter.
We thank you for
the kindness, compassion, and love you have shown all of us.
With love and gratitude,
The Lopez-Kass
Family

Recovery with a smile
October 10, 2013
Waking up in the morning is a good sign! No matter- that every hour people are check-in on you to making sure you are still breathing, yelling your name, asking how your feeling...it's a good thing- specially when you respond!
We are in the ICU and Marni is doing great, she is resting and the anesthesia took a bit of a toll on her last night but seems to be out of her system.
Just a few minutes ago a swarm of surgical docs buzzed into the room, it was awesome. Tons of motor skill questions for Marni, can you say this- can you raise that -can you see how many fingers I am showing you; there was a moment that i was positive she was going to show them how many fingers she had up! As quickly as they came in bammmm they were gone.
Word on the street is that she will be moved from the ICU unit to a lower-grade penitentiary- i mean floor this afternoon. There she will have more rest time, most likely a little speech therapy and a dose of physical therapy over the next few days until she is released.
Marni's speech is slurred and sporadic. At moments she can say a full sentence then cant remember my name...(the part about my name is on purpose I think.)
The best news of the morning came when she was able to speak to the kids. The energy around her when she spoke to them was incredible.
This picture was taken five minutes ago, she even smiled for everyone and wanted to send her love for all the support an prayers, Thank you!
