This night was one of the most amazing nights we have ever been a part of. There are moments in your life you remember, your first love, meeting the person you know your going to spend the rest of your life with, that wedding day, having kids, finding out you wife has a brain tumor, having a fundraiser at the Music Box with 300 of your closest friends…
This night truly will be remembered as one of those life altering moments. For me and Marni, it has been really tough for us to accept any kind of help. For a long time we thought we could do it on our own. But as days go by it becomes more challenging…
When people wanted to help-and suggested a fundraiser we were blown away.
This night was so overwhelming for us in so many ways. Marni, Finn, Sloan and I drove up to LA, mid afternoon Sunday. Marni leaded over to me just past Oceanside and said what if know one shows up? I shrugged, with anticipation. I hoped that the night would be motivating and inspiring for her that it would keep spirits up. She is starting to hit the hard part of the treatments, the gaining weight, being exhausted, dealing with the kids, dealing with me!
As we pulled up to the Music Box I think we both started to cry. On the marquee was written “We love you Marni & Paul.” Does a night start out any better than that? Nope!
We walked into the foyer of the Music Box and suddenly we were mobbed by a handful of friends. Marni was whisked away in a fury of hugs and kisses and you look incredible comments- (which she did.)
As we made our way in to the main room of the Theater, we were amazed at how many people there were, and how beautiful everything looked. It was an event that could have been in magazines. Flowers, lighting, DJ, and a ton of food, with a ton of beautiful people, there was even stuff for the kiddies. The Bubble Man, Rock Toddler, Reptile Family (Marni’s favorite)
We were completely blown away at each point in the evening! We had no expectations, other than we hoped to see friends. That was about it! Just see our friends.
The night wore on and we had the most incredible time. Marni mentioned on our ride home the following day, “Last night was one of the best nights; we had our closest friends all in one room. It was lovely,”
I don’t think the reason really matter, why we were all together. All that matter was that we were all together…
Here are a few pix of the evening. Enjoy!
