Waking up in the morning is a good sign! No matter- that every hour people are check-in on you to making sure you are still breathing, yelling your name, asking how your feeling...it's a good thing- specially when you respond!
We are in the ICU and Marni is doing great, she is resting and the anesthesia took a bit of a toll on her last night but seems to be out of her system.
Just a few minutes ago a swarm of surgical docs buzzed into the room, it was awesome. Tons of motor skill questions for Marni, can you say this- can you raise that -can you see how many fingers I am showing you; there was a moment that i was positive she was going to show them how many fingers she had up! As quickly as they came in bammmm they were gone.
Word on the street is that she will be moved from the ICU unit to a lower-grade penitentiary- i mean floor this afternoon. There she will have more rest time, most likely a little speech therapy and a dose of physical therapy over the next few days until she is released.
Marni's speech is slurred and sporadic. At moments she can say a full sentence then cant remember my name...(the part about my name is on purpose I think.)
The best news of the morning came when she was able to speak to the kids. The energy around her when she spoke to them was incredible.
This picture was taken five minutes ago, she even smiled for everyone and wanted to send her love for all the support an prayers, Thank you!
